
ABOUT CHRISTIAN COLWELL
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Christian moved out to the west coast to make films. Always seeking new and undiscovered images, he works tirelessly to create visual language that is new, exciting, and most of all supports the story.
He studied Film Production with an emphasis in Cinematography at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University in Orange, California. With a minor in Art History, he searched through centuries of images from across all cultures to bring new light and perspective to American cinematography.
At Chapman, Christian shot 5 Senior Thesis films, 6 Junior-level Advanced Productions, and 8 Sophomore-level Intermediate Productions as well as a documentary capstone project.
He also shot a television pilot, 8 independent shorts, 6 music videos, and 4 commercials over the same time. Over the past few years, he worked on many music videos, commercials, and three features as either a Key Grip, Gaffer, or 1st AC.
